Q: Why did you become a Hair Stylist?
A: It all started in 1989 with some play-doh and a mop top hair shop…
I’ve always enjoyed playing with hair — my sisters can attest! I never really took it as a career choice until college wasn’t sitting right and a suggestion was made that maybe I should just try hair school because of my love of doing hair. I fell in love and I fell hard, and here we are. It’s encompassed so many other avenues that I also really enjoy that I never thought possible in this vocation and my passion for it has never wavered.
Q: What do you love most about doing hair?
A: That it’s constantly changing! You are always having to educate and level up and so that means it never gets boring. Every head of hair that I have the privilege of touching is unique and I always feel honoured that people trust me to make them feel good by giving them great hair.
Q: When you’re not at work, where can we find you?
A: You’ll most definitely find me hanging out with my 13 year old son who thinks he’s cooler than me!
Q: What is one thing you can’t live without?
A: Coffee! Coffee is survival juice.

Q: Why did you become a Hair Stylist?
A: I became a hairdresser in 1979. I always knew from a very young girl this was what I wanted to be.
Q: What do you love most about doing hair?
A: What I love the most about what I do is the creativity for each individual. Everyone is unique in what they would like to achieve in their hairstyle, so it’s fun to go different places with every person’s hair. As I’ve been at Colors since the very beginning, it’s been wonderful to grow with the people who have supported us from the very start, welcome new clientele as the years have gone by and have the pleasure to grow with them as well. Also, I love the relationships that have developed along the way.
Q: What’s the best thing about working at Colors?
A: The best thing for me about Colors is definitely the sense of community over these last (almost) 30 years.
Q: When you’re not at work, where can we find you?
A: Where will you find me if I’m not inside these walls? Most likely at my knitting chair… totally engrossed in my knitting with my other favourite fibre besides hair… which is yarn!

Q: Why did you become an Esthetician?
A: Growing up I was always interested in the beauty industry and initially was motivated to pursue esthetics because of my love for makeup. In 2006 I became a certified esthetician. I have worked to continue my professional development and today my services focus on lash lifts, brow lamination, pedicures and gel nails.
Q: What do you love most about doing Esthetics?
A: I enjoy the ability to be creative in my role and helping people feel their best. In a busy and stressful world, I value the ability to help people push pause and feel freshened up and renewed.
Q: What is one thing you can’t live without?
A: One thing I could never live without is music. I enjoy many genres of music and consider it an essential part of my day. As such, I try to maintain a lighthearted outlook because hey, “I’m here for a good time, not a long time.”

Q: Why did you become a hair stylist?
A: I’ve always had a love for doing hair. I used to cut my dolls hair all the time, and then cry when it didn’t grow back. I also really enjoy people, and my ability to make them feel good about themselves.
Q: What is your hair specialty?
A: I think cutting is my strongest part of doing hair, but I’m also very good at styling.
Q: When you’re not at work, where can we find you?
A: When I’m not at work, you can usually find me at home. I might be in my yard talking to my flowers or painting pots and rocks, or I’ll be in my kitchen cooking and baking.
Q: What’s the best thing about Colors?
A: The best thing about Colors is that it has always felt like family to me. I have made some lifelong friends there.

Q: Why did you become an esthetician?
A: Growing up, I was the youngest of 4 girls. I always admired my oldest sisters and the way they did their makeup. I dived head first into makeup as a teen, and found myself with a collection of nail polish, palettes and strip lashes. I then became super interested in anything beauty related, and knew that I had to start a career in the industry!
Q: What do you love most about doing esthetics?
A: As a new esthetician, I feel nails and anything to do with eyebrows are my favourite. I love the fact that I act as a mini therapist, allowing my clients to escape the hustle and bustle of their busy lives for an hour or two. I find esthestics to be so fulfilling in my own life, as its helped me to explore my creative side!
Q: When not at work, where can we find you?
A: When not at work, you can find me chilling at home with my cat or with my family.
Q: What’s your favourite type of music?
A: My favourite type of music really varies. I was in band class in elementary school up until I graduated high school, so I can listen to anything between classical music to heavy metal! Music is everything!

A: I really like doing vivid colours and haircuts!
Q: When not at work, where can we find you?
A: Probably spending time with my family, playing games and or hiking in the mountains.

Q: Why did you become a hair stylist?
A: I originally started taking Cosmetology classes in 9th grade to learn how to style my own hair. Shortly after that my brothers and friends became my test subjects! I have met many interesting people and love listening to their journeys.
Q: What is you hair specialty?
A: I enjoy doing colours and haircuts!
Q: When not at work, where can we find you?
A: Outside of work, you can find me outdoors hiking, camping or travelling. When I’m not outdoors, you can find me at home with a kitty in my lap!
Q: What is your favourite type of music?
A: I’m not picky when it comes to music. I grew up having dance parties in the kitchen with my brothers!
